Robert Thoms

Robert Thoms

Robert S. Thoms has more than 20 years of experience in the private and public sector representing the interests of both elected officials and industry leaders as well as an intimate knowledge of military and legislative issues. He is Veteran of the Persian Gulf War and currently serves as a Public Affairs Officer in the United States Navy Reserves stationed at the Pentagon's Chief of Naval Information Office. Robert is also an Adjunct Instructor to the Navy Prospective Commanding Officers School in New Orleans teaching Communication and Congressional Affairs courses.

Scott Ruston

Scott Ruston

Scott Ruston supervises data acquisition and analytic research for NarrativeTrack, including developing, testing and executing methods that allow us to map a given narrative landscape in relation to the rumor clusters we track. He holds a PhD from USC with specialization in narrative theory and media studies, and is a co-author of Narrative Landmines: Rumors, Islamist Extremism, and the Struggle for Strategic Influence. A Captain in the Navy Reserve, he commands a Sixth Fleet support unit and deployed to East Africa in 2014.

Trevor Getz

Trevor Getz

Trevor R. Getz is Professor of African and World History at San Francisco State University. He has authored or co-authored nine books including African Histories: New Sources and New Techniques for Studying African Pasts, Slavery and Reform in West Africa, and the prize-winning graphic history Abina and the Important Men ​and Abina digital application. He is the series editor for the Oxford University Press African World Histories series as well as serving on the editorial board of the Journal of West African History. ​A frequent keynote speaker, he is an acknowledged master teacher and curriculum expert as well as consultant for numerous school districts. Tim Kochis is the founder of Kochis Global, which fosters best in class wealth management and investment planning services in the developing world, particularly in China and other rapidly growing markets in Asia. He has over 40 years of experience in the personal financial and investment planning profession. He has advised a select group of executives, professionals, and business owners throughout the United States and overseas since 1973. Before founding Kochis Global, Tim served as CEO and then as Chairman of Aspiriant and was a founder of Kochis Fitz, one of its predecessor firms. Prior to that, Tim was National Director of Personal Financial Planning for Deloitte & Touche (1985 – 1991) and for Bank of America (1981 – 1985). He is a veteran of the Vietnam War and a Purple Heart recipient.
